Speedy Speedrun of Super Castlevania IV sped up to "Travel Demon." Is Simon going to have a heart attack?!
Original tool-assisted speedrun video by Phil and Genisto - apparently, it took them over 5500 save states to get this perfect! Amazing! (www.tasvideos.org) The song "Travel Demon" is by S.S.H. and is perhaps the best and most rockin' Castlevania medley ever.
Anyway, Super Castlevania IV kicks butt and has recently been re-released on the Wii Virtual Console. Go crouch-walk and 8-directional whip!

Considering the game can be finished in about 45 minutes without cheats and with no special tools or save states, this video is pretty pointless

In the world of speedrunning even a couple of seconds count. Remember; TAS and Original Speedrunning are completely seperated things. And this Performance in combination with the music is very entertaining to watch... so there is a point to this video :))))

I'm old fashioned, I prefer watching a speed run based on skill even if it's less pretty.
My personal record for that game was 44 minutes and something, no deaths, no cheats. Of course that was after 6 months of playing it almost non stop and learning the levels by heart through dying a lot.
And was also less than a year after it originally came out on the snes.
I swore so hard at that game my parents considered giving my snes away. :P

Simple, Constant use of save states, that in itself is cheating, you don't like the outcome, you just move a few steps back to a previous state.
In fact using save states you can pretty much find the current pattern of the area you're in; monster positions, trap positions, position of the items you don't want, how the boss will react in the fight. All those things are semi random whenever you die but if you reload a state, everything will flow the exact same way.

I would imagine so. It probably can be found but whether it's the acutal song is another story because sometimes you never know what you're going to get until you get it.
