Before you start sending us flaming e-mails complaining that a comparison between the 2008 Audi S5 and the 2008 BMW M3 Coupe is an obvious mismatch from the get-go, you should know a few things.
Our first full test of the $53,000, all-wheel-drive 2008 Audi S5 was a bit of a revelation. With a 354-horsepower version of Audi's direct-injection 4.2-liter V8 under its hood, the voluptuous Audi S5 ran a 13.3-second quarter-mile at 104 mph, just 0.1 second and 2 mph shy of the 420-hp 2007 Audi RS4 sedan. What's more, the S5's slalom speed is within a couple mph of the harsh-riding RS-spec sedan. "It ran a 13.3? With that kind of speed, who needs a $67,000 RS4?" we asked ourselves.

| Wow, mr. eclipse! The fact that all you can think to say is that tells me you don't really know what you're talking about. They're both great cars, and BMW doesn't suck no matter what anyone says. You may have your preference, but BMW has a reputation and a track record that makes your "BMW sucks" statement just look ridiculous. Audi's are great, and BMW's are great. My preference is BMW, and yours is AUDI. It's all good! |

| I think they should put a SL65 AMG BlackSeries in there to kick both of these cars' asses. Then what? who they gonna call? on the RS6? RS5? M5? M6? R8? RS45435? M4543534? sorry, there is just no contest for Mercedes-Benz. Far superior. And after you kick their asses. Park the SL65Blackseries, and head out on a Maybach S62. Audi has looks but no guts; and BMW as ugly interior but good performance (till a certain point)...Merc has everything. End of story. |

| Why does it matter how quick you are around and apex if in the city there's rarely none? See you around crusing in your torqueless M3 trying to pass a minivan without having to reach 5K rpms. Oh, and stay away from any street encounters with C63s, muchless now that they are tuning the engines up to 518hp like the rest of the line up. If I wanted a good track car, I wouldve bought a lotus... hell, I think a corvette LS3 does a better job at the track AND the straight than the M3 itself. |

| The m3 is one of the best everyday cars that you can take to a track. Thats what its role is and thats what it does best. And i will stay away from c63s especially because it can't hit an apex and will go out of control if i try and race one. |

| ha, nice joke, what are you twelve? if anything, notice on every video how the M3 when launching from a dig always, and i mean always, peels out and has bad traction in first gear. Sad thing is; that is not because it has crazy power/torque, quite the opposite, and its also bad at dig races. That C63 has way more grip when taking off. M3 is boring, but good at the track. But I much rather have a C63; much better exhaust note and way faster (if chipped). |

| yea that automatic tranny must be lots of fun, not to mention its not in these cars class, your just a dumb peice of shit, mercedes can't even make power without using forced induction, audi has made a 4.2l v8 that puts out 420hp, bmw has made a 5.0l v10 that puts out 507 hp, mershity can't make a decent engine, not to mention the drive is boring and un involving, they are low quality peices of shit, i rather have a nissan altima then a benz |
