The bassist is "Big 'Un," the great Walter Page. He passed only a short time after this performance. I think that might be drummer Osie Johnson digging Jo Jones at about 2:20.

I posted the same video, i recorded it on a french tv network, the name of the tune's "fast and happy blues" there is coleman hawkins, dickie wells, gerry mulligan, joe newman and jo jones... ain't no lester young...

The bass player is actually Eddie Jones. Although Lester Young isn't present here, he was in the same CBS studio earlier that day, backing Billie Holiday with Roy Eldridge, Doc Cheatham, Vic Dickenson, Coleman Hawkins, Ben Webster and Gerry Mulligan, amongst others. Hence the reason Mulligan etc. sit in with Basie's Band. Holiday herself is seen appreciating the band's version of "Dickie's Dream", which with the third title "I Left My Baby" are on a Gerry Mulligan DVD called "Darn That Dream"
