Don't patronize us by saying it's not free, "We pay for it with taxes!." Well we drive on city streets for FREE -- their construction paid for with taxes, they are FREE, -- books at our libraries are FREE, -- our Fire Departments, Police Departments etc., are FREE. These are all FREE services, collectively socialized and paid for with our tax dollars. To argue that Health Care -- a life & death issue for many -- should not be considered in the exact SAME league is LUDICROUS and ARCHAIC.

Way to go John, a true American. Dennis Kucnich is the only Pres. Candidate supporting Single Payer. All the others taking lot's of insurance and phramaceutical dollars. We vote, they pay, we lose. keep Insurance companies and Pharmaceutical companies in their financial pockets. Go to opensecrets website - to see lobby money by rep. The People lose. Conyers Single Payer plan is the best plan for America needs broad base of educated support.

Of course there is a cost, but it is free at the point of service. The payments would be less then the pay pay pay plan we currently have. Er's pay, ee's pay and then we have huge co-pays and deductibles. if you're chronically ill - good luck. What a sucky system. Single payer is the only fair solution and would save overall costs.

I appreciate your point no how we pay for public services, however my response challenges your arguement that Health Care For All is 'in the exact SAME league' as our other public services and should be managed the same way.

There are differences in the economics of public roads, public libraries, public protective services and the economics of public health care for all. PRIVATIZATION plays a critically important role not only in health care but also in most 'public services'.

We DO need health care reform and I suggest you read Dr. David Gratzer's book "The Cure: How Capitalism Can Save American Health Care" (I asked my public library to purchase a copy, which they did, so I could read it. Now I've purchased two copies on my own.)

If you want to understand the problem - and understand The Solution - read "Health Care Meltdown" by Dr. Bob Lebow (and updated by Dr. C. Rocky White). It explains why single payer government health insurance is THE ONLY WAY TO GO. It will save millions of lives and billions of dollars. THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA HAVE TO DEMAND IT and get the no value middlemen (insurance companies) out of our health care system.

Great video! Healthcare is the single most important issue in the 2008 election. United States is the only Western industrialized nation with out universal healthcare. The private sector is not stable enough for healthcare. Our own health is at stake here. Kucinich is the only canidate who coauthored the HR 676 bill, a bill that was supposed to lead to a more healthier and prosperous America through single-payer, universal healthcare.

i dont want free health care. i dont need the hillary and the government taking more money from me than they already do. I dont need them to tell me which doctor to go to, and what vaccines or inoculations to take. this is unamerican. the Bush administration destroyed health care in the U.S. only so hillary and michael moore could be the "saviors" and trick everyone into this SCAM!!!!!!!

My 2 cents to poor American people. When you are really really sick and can't pay medical bill, go to another developed country where you can get cheap medical treatment but still has advanced medical equipments and staffs. Good candidates are Canada, England, France, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Germany etc...
You can save money and can save yourself by doing this and as a bonus, you will enjoy some foreign sight seeing and food.
To describe American health system, A 'joke' is even a luxury.

The American Health Care System is in shambles, and has caused several people to declare bankruptcy. Others on the other hand cannot afford to get health insurance,are exept from getting any due to medical conditions, or simoly cannot affor to pay the deductible imposed by the insurance. If you are a "poor American", and cannot afford to pay a deductible, how can you possibly buy a plane ticket to another country, pay for the stay, all other commodities, and still sightsee?
