Japan has single payer universal health care and they have the longest lifespan in the world. They also have less of all the major illnesses.
A night in the hospital costs $10.
Every citizen can go to any doctor any time they want and they spend less than 50% per person on health care that the US does.
Americans are being taken for a ride by corporate America and they do not have a clue!

It's nothing noble about it. It should be our right. I'm with one company for 10 years. See a doctor once in two years. I am paying on average 400$ a month. The insurance company invests my money and makes money on my money. If I started investing in health plan from an infant, I would be able to save for old days. Then, new job and new health care provider. Where did my money go??

Of course, twenty years after he "bankrupted" Cleveland, they found out that he actually saved them hundreds of millions in the long run by refusing to privatize utilities.
Which is why they turned around and elected him again.
He was right, he knew it, and didn't cave to pressure. Even if it cost him his job back then.

How do we get universal healthcare? The answer is simple: You have to steal. If you don't know how to make healthcare cheaper, and you want everyone to have it, then you must steal to pay for it. I prefer the peaceful solution of finding and ending the cause of the escalating cost, thereby making it affordable.

Single payer universal healthcare? You mean a monopolizing insurance company--err I mean the government? insurance companies need competetion to drive the cost down, basic economics. Universal healthcare will only destroy the quality of healthcare. If you don't believe me, ask a doctor who's spent most of their life studying, or who's missed so many moments with their family because of being on call, or one who is still over $200k indebt because of medical school loans. NO to universal health care. What he's not telling you is you would then start having months-long waits for care you now get in days or weeks. People die in Canada waiting for care, due to rationing of health care. And they HAVE government insurance! So it's NOT true no one would have problems if the govt. provided care. And Kucinich, as other politicians, would likely be exempt from these longs waits that 'regular people' like you and I would have. So this whole thing is a scam.

wow your an idiot. Every single statistic concerning patient death is lower in canada. This includes people that die waiting for health care. There is no perfect system and no one said that its just better. The reason why we have low wait times is we kick out the people that can't afford it. An politicians already have a better system then we the "regular people" its funded by the government. Besides we have too long of wait times for treatment we can let the pentagon research the problem.

The Canadians are having some problems because they have nursing shortages and need to expand bed coverage. Don't let the right-wing jackasses fool you. Let's think about this logically. Private insurers are a business and businesses, by their very nature, are trying to maximize their profits and minimize their payments. Of course, those payments are your health and well-being. Do you really want your health being controlled by that kind of system?

I always hear people opposed to the idea of universal health care talk about the many problems of the Canadian and other systems. I've talked to many others from these "Socialist" countries, and I have yet to meet one willing to trade what THEY have for the American system where you are left to your own devices; a system where most bankruptcies are due to the inability to pay for the highest medical costs in the world
