...and as for these lincolns selling because they're cheap and shit...for starters they sold for around $23-25,000 which was alot of money in the early 80's.And who would buy a car because it was shit.? These were bought by high flying city people,bankers,directors etc,...hardly dumbass people.

My friend sold 89 Mercedes for £500 because it failed its MOT. Come to england and you'll see most jags of this vintage in second hand car lots for £900 because they're rusted to hell and dropping to bits. Same as a lot of 70's Rollsroyces.

My ex work collegue had a wedding car service and ended up selling his old 70's rolls because it was beyond eceonomical repair.Luxury english cars are the worst argument you could give. They were very bad in the 70's and 80's.

at the end of the day, luxury cars are one of the worst investments you can make unless you're planning on keeping them for 40 years and hardly use them.Whether its a jag,Lincoln or whatever.
Because as soon as they step out of their manufactueres warrenty,the luxury bits start going wrong,they too expensive to get fixed and then they just get bought as normal run arounds and then neglected.

Nah, I used to get kinda offended at Clarkson's stabs at Americans, but its just an opinion, and he's not afraid to give them. And in most cases, his views of US cars (sych as this one) are spot on.
