Your honestly not very good at interpreting song lyrics if you think this song could only be about God or getting high. The only thing that supports those ideas is the chorus. If you listen to the rest of the song its about why he became a musician. He didn't do it to be popular or the entertain kids, it wasn't even for money. He became a musician because it made him feel good. As for the chorus i think its just a statement about his emotion. "I just wanna elevate MYSELF" not other people
