3G iPhone Ad vs Real World: A performance comparison

Video Description:
Apple's "Unslow" 3G iPhone commercial pretends to demonstrated the performance of the device over the 3G network. To put it to the test, I took my own 3G iPhone to the heart of AT &T's coverage area in MA (Boylston St. in Boston just across the street from Apple's flagship store).
The video shows a side by side performance comparison running through an identical set of actions.
The results tell the story.

I don't disagree. I said it was misleading but that video loading in the Times page was a crock, only in a gprs zone has it taken that long and usually it's way faster even on gprs. Consider this guys video post may also be misleading.

id like to point out here, that the average ad costs around 1/2 a million per 30 seconds on prime time tv in thew uk, so i doubt apple had the money to show all the loading times lol.

I liked the other satire ad better. Yes, 3g isn't instant as it stands it's faster than any other phone I've used. I can start browsing with all images loaded way before my friends can. For the record I bought a fuze before my iphone and the browsing experience doesn't compare. I wish it did, I really do but every other phone I've used FAILS for browsing. The iphone isn't perfect but so far it has the best touch screen, best apps, best web browsing and best audio playback.

Also, how many other ads do you see for products that don't accurately represent the product? Apple is hardly the first to mislead the consumer. Also I think mac pros are considerably overpriced. The macbook was comparable but now they're all rubbish.

ur all idiots... seriously. why don't you all go drink red bulls i saw on tv that it gives you wings... or hey lets get some pantene shampoo. i saw on tv that it makes your hair so strong that if you tie it to a medal pole it will rip it out of the wall. everything on tv is dramatized to make their product look superior. Apple's 3g iphone is not as fast as it is in the commercial. but its not as slow as the other guys phone either. I have one. never been that slow...

That looks like a network issue with AT & T, that's how it loads when I'm on 2G, when it's 3G it's a lot faster (Australia).
Although American phone networks seem a bit behind, especially 3G and HSDPA.

Apple fanboys and girls seem to be reading these comments quite a lot. No one can say bad from their Apple products because there is nothing wrong with them. WRONG. Lots of things are wrong but users are usually blind to see obvious faults that they themselves have already gotten used to or they dislike other brand of products.
