No more laughable than attempts by some Irish nationalists to ignore Ulster unionism. There is no definition of a nation handed down from on high. And Irish separatists were not in a majority in the whole UK. At the end of the day the border is where it is because that was felt to be the most acceptable solution for most people who ended up in the state they preferred. If a majority of the north votes for unification it'll happen (so long as the Republic also votes for it, including the cost.)

And the 1918 election was more than a vote on separatism, no matter what one party declared. As for an all island single referendum on the border forcing the north into the Republic against its will would be a recipe for disaster, hence why no serious party no proposes it and why the GFA included the majority in both as a core principle.

It's a rather barbaric system that tells you you're health is only worth what you can afford. People in United States should get behind, and support, HR 676. If you don't know what it is learn about it! GM & Ford are going bankrupt because of the rising cost of health care. If United States had single-payer system, the companies wouldn't have to worry about it.
