He drowned, i think on his way to a gig? or the studio? I am not entirely sure (someone please fill in the blanks). What's weird about his death was in the lyrics of his song 'so real' he talks about not being able to awake from the nightmare that 'sucked me in and pulled me under, pulled me under'... he drowned due to a low laying current in the river which pulled him under.
