On Feb. 29 There were 13 Mysterious Shopping.com Sellers that showed up on Ebay with Listings that totaled over 270,000. Ebay owns shopping.com and has yet to give the Ebay community a straight answer as to why this happened.

On January 29th eBay announced they:
lowered their Insertion Fee by $.05-$.80 (depending on your starting price) majority of small sellers will be $.05-$.15
lowered some of the other "extras" (that most sellers don't even use anyway)
made Gallery free (FINALLY)about time they give us a little break
BUT
INCREASED the Final Value Fee (FVF) from 5.25% to 8.75% (a 66% FVF increase) INCREASED/DOUBLED the Reserve Fee from $1.00 to $2.00 and made it NON-REFUNDABLE (used to be refundable if your reserve price was met)now, they get the fee everytime tou use it/sell it or not???
INCREASED the FVF on stores from 10% to 12%
Is taking away the seller's right to leave neutral or negative feedback to buyers who deserve it (buyers will only be able to receive positive feedback when the new policy goes into effect)No seller will ever be able to leave a NEG for any buyer, EVER AGAIN???!!!!
AND
PayPal WILL HOLD payment funds until either the buyer has left positive Feedback or 21 days have passed without a claim if they (PayPal) determine that the risk of dissatisfied buyers is high with you, the seller. So in other words, as a smaller seller, they will make you wait upto 21 days for the money you were paid for an item to show up in your Paypal account...So, customers will be able to have their items in their possession for well over 2 weeks before you have actually seen the payment in your account...
SO WHO'S HANDS IS ALL YOUR MONEY IN FOR 3 WEEKS...DRAWING INTEREST??? Hmmmmmm.....

I have a very powerful search method to find stuff to buy on ebay. Before Feb 2008 I got about 30-50 pages of listings to dig through, then in march 2008 that number dropped to 2-7 pages, mostly BS listings similar to ones this video described.
In MARCH 08 Paypal started randomly holding money in limbo for 5 to 18 days then posting it as if it were there all along. I will continue to list on ebay through may, after that I should be established on alternate sites. I am a 3K+ FB powerseller.

I have a problems wih ebay. for a few months now They have threatened to take $1700.00 frOm my checking acc. Totally their fault, their crediters keep calling. I had to cancel my credit card and change my bank acc. When this all first started I tried to call for help, also going on live ebay chat help etc. and they shuffled me round to 5 or 6 differnet depts. they make it hard to resolve making people pay for it just to shut them up. I WILL NEVER PAY THEM A DIME!!!!!!!!!

Fascinating...If true, it appears that ebay is trying to hide that they're not doing so well....and with the new feedback system that screws sellers right up the ass, many sellers have stopped selling.....Ebay is no doubt going to have a bad fiscal year.

i think the ban on ebay has been underpublicised, no fault of anyone, its just to soon for all to know and hear, the date should be 1st july 2008, end of tax year, plenty of time to organise yourself, with members leaving priour to then anyway it will only add more weight to the silent protest,last year i was selling on ebay i sold half of what was listed and keeped good records, keeping the same records now im selling 25% of whats listed, either the buyers are not there or its economics?

That happened to me too. NEVER link PayPal to your bank account. [What they call being verified.] eBay and PayPal retain the right to tap it whenever they want, that's the only reason they want you to become verified.
I too closed a checking account that I had for 15 years because closing it was the only way to stop PayPal from taking $900 from me. [Buyer was a fraud who eventually got kicked off eBay.]
eBay and PayPal are crooks.

I closed my bank account also because of similar crap; I still have a paypal account, they always send me emails asking me to add a bank account....not doing it. Then they say you have a spending limit...how do you have a spending limit when purchases are made with you PP account balance or your credit card? I ignore the requests to verify my account, I still can use my paypal account and have the debit card....why do I need to link my bank account to them????

My ban on Ebay is permanent .I'm a casual seller/heavy buyer on ebay , or was .I'm 51feedback 100 percent positive selling .Ebay bought out Paypal . Now there is a 21 day hold on funds you sell .They expect you to ship your expensive items out and there terms are they may release hold upon positive feedback from seller,delivery confirmation.They want to hold your money for 21 days if there is a dispute ,you dont get money and you've lost the item .Ask any seller if they will wait 21 days for $

I will never give out my bank account details to anyone. There are too many crooks on the net to allow that and it's a wonder Ebay don't know that, yet they persist. I cannot get verified because of the danger in anyone knowing our bank account details. Now ebay has stopped me selling items because I am not verified, yet they have enough for their bill i have to pay them.

Ebay now owns Paypal . Call Paypal , i did , i had them so frustrated , the Rep said sir Ebay owns Paypal and you have to ship your item out and we will hold those funds 21 days . I refunded buyer , so Paypal did not get a $1,300.00 loan for 21 days from me and lost there fee . And they lost the item i was going to bid on , as well as another item i was going to sell soon .

people these days seem to see conspiracy everywhere! it just might be possible they did screw up and list this stuff on the wrong site you know. the people that find reasons to complain about Ebay are normally the same people lining up to have a pop at microsoft. I deal with both these companies and find them to have fairly good service and a product I find desirable...its just a soft target to spank Ebay
