Regadring the fact that a 1000$ computer will exceed the power of the human brain is in theory true. But we do not know even half of the things about the human brain that we think we understand.
The human brain in my eyes will allways be far more powerful than any computer. My reasoning to this is that while the computer can process things faster than we can, They do not share the same understanding as us. Common sense, inate ability to connect colours etc.

hey good facts- do you mind if i use a few? i have a couple things of constructive criticism- maybe have some pics to explain your points more, also those may all be good facts but since there are no pictures it gets kinda boring. Exactly, also we have to keep in mind some functions in the brain is also left overs from evolution. There is no way we can use 100% of our brain with some of the functions being very old but still left. Now the reptile brain isn't really a part of the brain but it's the part that kicks in when survival is top priority.

I do not know if the point of the video is necessarily that computers are going to become smarter than humans. I think the point of the video is exactly as the title says: shift happens. Our world has shifted this majorly before, and will do so again in times go come. It is part of the endless evolution and revolution of humanity, and the world we occupy. I think it is natural to have apprehension about such major shifts, but we still manage to go forward and thrive.

there so much disinformation in this video presentation it's almost comical. first of all their is no computer, or will never be a computer than can think for itself. Computers need something you call software in order to function. which means they need a HUMAN programmer to give the COMPUTER chip a function. without a HUMAN PROGRAMMER the COMPUTER CHIP can not function.
