Trip-Hop Music: Recloose - Absence Of One

Uploaded by: Profeshian
Video Description:
The Cosmic Lounge presents Trip-Hop Music: 'Absence Of One' by Recloose.
"Recloose (nee Matt Chicoine) is a Detroit techno/nu jazz/broken beat/whatever-you-want-to-call-it artist. By now, everyone has heard the story about how he got his break, while working at Eastern Market Deli--so we won't repeat it here. He subsequently released some damn good records on Planet E. Around 2001, he moved from Detroit to New Zealand, and continues to make damn good music from there."

'Dub' (which is ... ( 3 months ago by Profeshian)
'Dub' (which is electronica with a reggae sensibility) would really be the most apt term for it, but I call this 'trip-hop' for the same reason as I unite 'minimal', 'progressive', 'funky' and 'chicago' house-styles beneath the 'deep house' umbrella: excessive pedantry would risk alienating my target-audience, whereas I figure that the sort of person who likes trip-hop will almost certainly appreciate this, and so referring to it as such (but including other genres as 'tags') should suffice.

'Clint Eastwood' is, yes. However, 'Feel Good Inc.' hearkens more to modern indie-rock in the tradition of Chikinki or Simian (pre-Mobile Disco era).
