The first concert I ever saw, was Styx Paradise Theater at the LA Forum, I had just turned 13, it was a gift, my very first concert, just two 13 year old girls, on their own. I was a poor kid, just the sight of the Forum was stunning to me. I stood on a chair, 10 rows from the stage. I listened simply speechless as the opening song was sung, and went into a trance of awe and bewilderment when the light came on. Wide eye I watched and never forgot.

Damn Yankees, Ted Nugent. It was definitely late eighties though. Tommy Shaw also had a solo career with three albums that came out in 1984, 1985, and 1987, titled "Girls With Guns," "What If," and "Ambition," respectively. I win :).

They're still together man....it isn't the same arrangement, but Tommy Shaw and James Young are still in it and Lawrence Gowan is a decent replacement for DeYoung.

Dennis DeYoung and Tommy Shaw=Their voices made for great harmonies in their songs and when Dennis left, it wasn't the same but Tommy carried the torch for Styx later on...Great underrated song from these stars!
