I strongly disagree with that. They don't have to TRY, they are political and spiritual. Their super duper success proves they are a great band.
I don't pick my music based on my opinion of the artist's personal life, no one should. Bono never proclaimed to be perfect, he's just a good humanitarian and rock star.
You should be more critical of the crappy music of today, not legends such as U2.

For the people who are asking what this song have to do with President Obama, let me tell you this, I've found and loved this song because of Obama, I heard it on his rallies and I love the sound. It's the second U2 song I cannot stop hearing, the 1st is "With or without you". I'm glad U2 allow Obama to use this song, it's simply a great Association and U2 will always be present at this historic moment... U2 Forever
