I'm totally with ya, it's just amazing how much of society is based around it when you really think about it. Mail not being delivered on Sunday, surely that idea originated from Sunday being like a "holy" day when no one is "supposed" to work, are we just going to do away with all that? Not that I have a problem with it, I just think if people are going to question why religion controls so much, they'd try starting at the bottom and working their way up instead of sitting around bashing #1.

The united states government doesn't tax churches, because the united states was founded on religious basis.

Taxing the church would basically go against what the united states was based on at first. We broke off of from the british because they taxed us, and we didn't want them to... to put it simply.

Lately a good part of the "trust" has gone into monetary gain.
As one person said some time ago (it may even have been George), "If the church wants political influence, let them pay for it the same way everybody else does".
Modern churches *are* businesses.
