hey, the third Starwars(return of the jedi) was pretty good, and same with Godfather part 3. sure, most #3 films are bad but if you try something new,interesting,good and different every time, then it has a good chance of succeeding. So what i am trying to say is... Batman might have a chance if Christopher and the rest of the cast stay with the third film.

It seems really difficult to integrate "cartoony" villains like The Penguin and The Riddler into the realistic, gritty Gotham world Nolan created. I'm guessing that's part of their apprehension also, not just concern about "topping" TDK.
But if anybody could do it, Nolan and his crew can. I'm sure there will be a third Batman, I just hope they can keep the same actors and director.

true, but your looking at it from a cartoon batsy viewpoint. the riddler is awfully similar to Jigsaw from Saw1,2,3,4,5 and penguin is another psychotic outcast like joker and becomes the kingpin of the crime rings

no way dude that would be way too out there, nolan said he's only using characters that have a realistic feel to them, the only characters that are really left that are realistic are Black Mask, The Riddler, Penguin and Hush
