Ron Paul was ... ( 3 months ago by Kras3169)
Ron Paul was supporting candidates who do not support his own beliefs. Nader and McKinney support social health care. McKinney also supports slave reparations (you can read it on her campaign site). why the hell was Ron Paul showing support for candidates like this in the first place? i have to agree with Barr on this one. and then Chuck Baldwin is a Christian-right conservative and totally anti-libertarian on some social issues. at least barr represents libertarianism.

everybody is being a little immature baby about the whole snub thing. pay no attention to these childish people crying about barr not showing up to a meeting with people who do not represent Ron Paul's beliefs. i respect Barr more for not showing up to that meeting!

I am totally with you on that! I agree 100%! Most people are being immature babies about the tension between Bob Barr and Ron Paul. And yes, a libertarian did not belong in a press conference on the same side as those other candidates. Nader-social health care. McKinney-social health care, slave reparations. Baldwin-Christian-right conservative especially on social issues!
Besides, Bob Barr is on 46 state ballots. Baldwin is only on 35.

I agree, these are all real long-time solutions to ensure that this chaos will never happen again. And yet if we are to save the market from depression investors need inmediate solutions, certainly it's not a real solution but a quick fix. But after the stock market returns to normal there could be real progress, and not a moment before. I must say I'm in a paradox, no intervention is good, and yet the panic stopped for a moment when they announced that the bailout would procede no matter what.

You got it wrong, Kras. Ron Paul is supporting the Third way - he's asked his supporters to choose from the thrid candidates. it was only after Barr's arrogance that Paul stated publicly that his personal support goes to Baldwin. It's his personal support. Baldwin may be too christian fuddy duddy for me too, but Barr? He looks like a mafioso to me, and sounds like one too.

I think Kras has it right. I appreciate what Paul is doing, but the message gets lost when he stands on stage and tells you to support any one of the four. Nader and McKinney are socialists and Baldwin is basically a Neocon on eveything but foreign policy, so I can see why Barr wouldn't share the stage with them. And he would look like a loser. And if you don't vote for Barr because he is arrogant or the way he looks and sounds, I hope you'll just stay home. I respect if you have other reasons.

Bob Barr had a real opportunity to promote the Libertarian Party this election and have their agenda pushed forward. Instead, one bad and selfish decision after another in his campaign on his part has caused his support to tank. Unfortunately, the Party is now going to have to wait 4 more years before they can attempt to make some real headway.

Bob Barr is pretty lame. He has always advocated a right wing Christian fundamentalist agenda. Like trying to ban certain religious practices from the military that weren't Christian.

I myself was and still am a Ron Paul supporter. That said, he is wrong for asking his supporters to choose amongst people who support socialized health care, slave reparations, and Pastor Baldwin who doesn't support leaving gay rights and abortion issues up to the states like Ron Paul did.
Is it REALLY Ron Paul's PERSONAL support that goes to Baldwin, or is he just angry at Barr? Are you aware Ron Paul encouraged Barr to run for President? Baldwin is only on 35 state ballots, Barr is on 46!

Bob Barr is 100% right and if you read his comments on the other major issues, he is also a stand up for the American people. I am a new Libertarian willing to change parties after 40 years of being a Republican. I like his Vice President choice also.

Bob Barr was right. I have been against this bailout along with most of America. I have seen surveys that put the number at 70% of Americans that are against this and yet it passed! Americans unite! This November go to the polls and vote out those so called representatives that voted FOR this giant government corruption, lobbyist bonus, pork feedbag bill out of office. Send them home. Bob Barr 08!!!
Your vote for ... ( 3 months ago by 22KingRat)
Your vote for Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr is guaranteed to improve America's future! If he gets at least 5% of the popular vote in this year's election, his party's Presidential campaign in 2012 can receive millions of dollars in voluntary taxpayer funds. It will also automatically qualify to be on state ballots, thereby avoiding long and costly signature petition drives. So do the 'most patriotic good' with your vote, help America build a 3rd major political party!!!

I like Bob Barr, but he is not my candidate. He is getting my vote, as nearly every Libertarian candidate does, but Ron Paul is my candidate. It really upsets me that Paul didn't support Barr, but it also upsets me that Paul isn't even a candidate.
Which brings me to this: Don't write in Ron Paul's name. You're wasting your vote. Vote for whoever else you like (preferably Barr), because voting Paul does nothing to further a third party or support Mccain/Obama.
