As an intermediate guitarist have been playing for 2 years. Made 3 bands had personal invites into 3 others, I wouldnt recommend a strat. For beginners be cheap. $200 or less for the guitar alone. For a metal guitarist I would recommend the Dean MLX or Dean ML XM depending on your money. Dean ML XM $167 Dean MLX $200 also a Peavey Blazer Transtube series 15 watt amp. But I would mainly have to say get what sounds good to you, and what feels god in yoru hands. That is the best advice I can give.

im an experience guitarrist and i have owned a Dean VX a cheap flying v it sucked big time i would recomend this strat for someone that wants playability and uses low gain.. but it still works for metal the only downturn is thath it has 21 frets a metal guitar must have 24 for better playability.

doesn't it depend on the kind of metal? Iron Maiden uses 22 and so do In Flames and such. Or atleast, thats what I think.

well iron maiden uses fender guitars wich arent the typical metal guitar but they still pull it off and in flames uses a gibson les paul and a esp explorer

im thinking about getting this package...which one do you guys recommend- bullet pack or this package. I already have the frontman with the sss strat. Oh and KoRnJDFan, im in a band, and we use all different guitar, strats are the most comfortable guitars ive ever used. see you in botb someday =D

neither, out of experience i can tell you they both suck. buy yourself a $300 guitar and a decent tube amp a pedal and your set to go.don't bother with this pack garbage.

It is called trying to sell it to the public. Trust me. I have bought this package before. The G-Dec Jr is incredible! But you are better off buying a Stratocaster that was made in Mexico. Squires were made in China.. no offense to the Chinese.
