he can pass for over 40-50 yrds, he scores 30-40 yard screamers, lampard does not, i dont know y ppl say lampard is better, the only goals he scores now are, tap ins, deflections, and penelty, and maybe the odd 2 or 3 gd goals a season,

Gerrard has to be the better player all round he can play anywhere on the pitch the only thing that lampard beats him on is goals and although gerrard does play defensive aswell i looked into it and lampard scored 45 goals in his first 9 yrs as a professional football player from 1995 - 2003 from 2003 - present he scored 96 goals in 6 years now i dont know about you but he must of ate his corn flakes in 2003 or maybe it has something to do with the millions abramovich invested in the club

Both are amazing.
But Lampard gets my nod. He has scored the most goals in premier league history from CM. He assists more than gerrard and he's far more consitent. Lampard scores in big games...how mny goals has gerrard scored agans man utd and chelsea?? Lampard has scored plenty at Old Trafford. Gerrard is a better all round player...but as a CM lampard is better. Atm lampard has been incredible for chelsea. His performance aganist Villa was incredible. Gerrard has been poor this year.

lampard scores more. And just becoz gerrard runs faster and scores nicer goals doesnt make him more effective in a team.lampard has been far more consistent. for 5 years: 20 goals, 20 assists each season on average in CM. Gerrard may score smashers once in a while, but lampard has done more in midfield for his team...plus he's scored more than gerrard for england. read some stats

Gerrard does way more for the team than just set up goals and score Gerrard is a much better takler of the ball and gets back much more often than lampard does hes a more complete player than lampard.

Stats really do have to be taken with a pinch of salt Gerrard is a much much better takler of the ball than lampard and gets back alot more.
