Dude, you definitely can see the falls from the USA. The Maid of the Mist just runs out of Canada. Which is the best way to see the falls. Anyways, it's easy enough to get from the US to Canada and back. You don't need a passport (just photo ID and birth certificate) if you do it in a car/truck/ground-based motor vehicle of your choice.
