Sure, they may not be as much bang for your buck, but in the end, they almost always outperform a tuner. Especially when you look and see most say, 800whp Supras against a stock 360? Consider what it takes for a tuner to get to that level...
By the end, it's not even the same car anymore. Consider doing the same to the 360, it's not a 360 anymore, but a mere shell.
I mean, think about it.
You modify a car because it doesn't match your standards. Thus, it is no longer say, a Corolla anymore, it is a modified chassis of that car. This is why exotics almost always outclass "tuners", because few tuners can stand to an exotic. Skyline, Supra, RX-7, STi, WRX, to name the majority. Think of how many exotics can perform above those levels.
Most cars need modification to meet the cut.

I like racecars coz' i like seeing them do dangerous triks MAN.... in the car
where as a exotic car does not need to be further tuned because it is....perfect in sense.
p.s i'd have a porsche GT2 over a import anyday of the week...
