depends what you mean by a good president, i dont think America will ever be happy with their presidents from now on because its such a diverse country with so many different political views and religious coultures that when the Obama makes a desition that makes one side happy, theres bound to be other people that dont agree with it or probably even hate it. and its common sence that the people that hate are allot louder than the people that praise.

Taxes should come from sales, excise, and tariff taxes. Tax dollars should NOT be going to any individual, but instead should be used for the following: 1) Internal Improvements 2) Natural Disaster Compensation 3) Funding for the protection of internal and external threats (National Security). This does not mean taxes should be going to an aggressive war effort (Iraq) or be used to play nanny for people who can't make it on their own. They need to find private alternatives to welfare.

I said that I shouldn't be giving money to blacks because I was replying to someone who said "money should be going to blacks" which is a ridiculous statement. And it wasn't just Republicans who got us into the mess (although yes, it was them too) it was government intervention as a whole. The government ruins everything it touches, just look at Social Security (billions of dollars in debt), public schools, and the postal service. We need the free market to get us out, not any political party.

The free market doesn't solve all problems. The free market invites monopolies, which cause deadweight loss because they don't produce enough goods to meet total demand. They sell enough goods to meet the demand for the high price level they set. This maximises their profit. Private alternatives to welfare. WTF? No profit maximizing firm is going to prevent someone who fails at life from starving to death. As a society we've deemed it more acceptable to lower the GDP than it is to allow anyone to starve to death. That is why we have welfare. If you don't like the system, then move to Croatia. They let people starve to death there, but at least they maximize production.
