Alright, I'm going to take a moment to address some of the negative posts I've glimpsed while browsing through this thread... and before I begin, let me say that this thread is about stereotypes. Yes. I admit it. For those of you that have a problem with this, let me say also: everyone here subscribes to stereotypes. Everyone who has ever visited Quizilla is begging to be classified under a neat, cut-and-dry category, and everyone who has ever called themselves an otaku, anime freak, or artist, is placing themselves in a category. There is nothing wrong with this -- it's a way of identifying ourselves with others based on shared beliefs and values. It's the knee-jerk reactions of those who place too much stock in stereotypes, take them too seriously, or misinterpret them as reality, that are truly damaging. So stop taking this thread so seriously -- the goth, emo, and punk communities are groups of real people, with real aspirations and personalities. And they still identify with a stereotype.
