Achilles was a descendant of Heracles, actually, on his father side; tidbit about Greek myth, nymphs, although minor godesses, were superhumanly strong. Achille's father had to first rape Thetis, to "win" her. Why is the rape of Nymphs frequent in Greek myth? It was a way for the storyteller to let everyone know, the man in question was uncommonly strong, because Nymphs, even though delicate, feminine and beautiful, by today's standards according to myth, they had the strength of, oh, Bob Sap
