I'll make this simple. A "truck system" is a company that pays their employees with credit at a company store.
I wasn't saying the song is about the "trucking industry."
Johnny Cash's is alright and maybe I'm just more used to the "original".
It's just that Cash is usually GREAT at covering dark emotions or vibes like that of this song, yet it really falls short on the feeling/swagger when compared to the Tennessee Ernie Ford version.
Don't get me wrong, Johnny Cash is incredible and I'm a big fan of his (ESPECIALLY his covers) but I personally think that he kinda rushed through this one.
What? Are they gonna magically respond like 'oh yeah, I guess I never thought of it like that. You're right.'?
