This is the 7" version released right before the LP. The LP cut was the "slowed down" version or actually the original. This, like any single, is usually intended for radio &/or club play. Another version with added percussion & a more "disco" feel was released after the LP was released supporting "Nothing." It was called "Strangelove '88."

While Gore didn't orgininally want to make a faster paced song, the rest of the band did and he eventually went along. The slower version was done later at his request. This can be considered an original version, although it doesn't really matter because all of them are awesome!
