And I would like to say that's why I love his place in the song. You could just throw the same old expected groove where it goes, but the point of G3 is to get 3 completely different guitarists and styles together. The almost dissonant nature of his playing in relation to the song gives it a previously un-thought of feel. It's like that really annoying guy in a movie, everyone hates him but the movie would have been less interesting without him.

Malmsteen is a big Hendrix fan and pays tribute to him quite often. Just because he doesn't get into the same groove as Satch and Vai doesn't mean e isn't really feeling the music - he has a different style, get over it! Personally I think Yngwie plays really well in this song... but that's just my opinion.
