I'll just say this: you're as much of a fanboy of Ryu (if not a bigger one) as/than they are of Ken. So how better than them are you really...?
And wtf, what are you guys? Five? It's a fucking video game, chill out... Ryu is more of a hadouken and meaty attacks fighter, while Ken is more of a close combat fighter and has more combos. Either way, they're balanced when compared with each other, and it's all down to the player's taste and practice.

what the fuck? Ryu was inspired by Karate Kid+Rambo, and came out with Ken and both the same debut game (SF1). Ryu was not in a different game prior, and SF1 had nowhere near the impact of SFII, so I don't know where this "Ryu>Ken" faggotry is coming from. Grow up.

Everybody in this thread needs to grow the fuck up. I am a huge Ken fan, but to sit here and debate which one is "fictionally" superior when Capcom has a hard enough time trying to make them seem even (such as Ken swearing to marry Eliza only upon defeating Ken in a decisive battle, he's married to her after SFII, one could interpret this as victory over Ryu, and what has capcom said? Nothing) There are no decisive wins in their rivalry thus far. Grow up, enjoy the damn games.

Actually, Ken beat Ryu in Street Fighter Alpha (2 I think), but he saw that Ryu was just not himself and wasn't concentrated in the battle (something about the whole Sagat + Akuma deal concerning/distracting him or maybe the whole dark hadou thing). I'm not sure about the rest of the fights, but I'm inclined to say Ryu won the majority of these fights. But yeah, that's only storyline-wise, gameplay-wise it always depends on the player way more than the characters.

There's still very little leanway with even Ken's victory in SFA2 (again, this is coming from a Ken fan) all that capcom's "official" storyline at this time supports is,
Ken gives Ryu his headband
They have sparred "countless" times with 50/50 w/l.
Ken marries Eliza after SFII (swearing to do so only after a "decisive" victory against Ryu, Capcom did not confirm or deny a victory or even match)
Ken drops out of SFIII after hearing Ryu lost to Oro, they have a rematch at the end of SFIII.

In SFIII, when you play w/ken you have to fight Ryu right before Gill (or was it counterwise?), they taunt each other a bit and Ryu claims to have the winning score in their fights. I'd say 51/49 for Ryu. [I'll repeat this reply for ESFAndy011]
