i completely agree with you. But some bands like Foo Fighters are still good since they're strongly "classically" influenced by greats like Zeppelin and The Who and Queen.

The music companies back then didn't have the strangle hold death grip they've got now, purely creating MANUFACTURED CONSENT. Gaurantees on investment.
Back then the rules weren't quite the same. At least they had to take some chances. Bands were blowing doors open and creating new sounds. Music WAS more real and alive.
