"Bryan has to hit ... ( 3 weeks ago by cosmo341)
"Bryan has to hit off a pitcher like none he's ever faced. And from alot closer".
Kinda says it all. ZERO reps in his life against a softball pitcher on top of being at a distance he's never seen before. He's programmed to hit with the pitcher starting 60'6'' away, not 46 (or 43 or whatever, and LL doesn't count). He also has a heavier wood bat (31-32oz's). How many times has he seen a pitcher coming from that angle? NONE. That's all girls know. They are used to it. Give him 20AB's and its over
"Unless they've ... ( 3 weeks ago by cosmo341)
"Unless they've seen alot of pitchers come from down under, they're going to have some problems with it" Yea, that doesn't have anything to do with this flawed study at all. Baseball players get BP from softball pitchers all the time, don't they. Nevermind the fact that baseball and softball swings are not mechanically the same. Nevermind that this is one of the best softball pitchers against a random minor leaguer. Can we get CC or Papelbon against some random softball player?

ok so boys think is easier to play softball but their wrong!!! i go to a pitching coach and we make it look a lot easier than it is we have to break down everything step by step unlike boys who just get up there and throw the ball!!! OVERHAND anybody could do that!!!

it'd be funny if the scientists were all like" BITCH YOU BROKE A MILLION DOLLAR PIECE OF EQUIPMENT!!" but seriously that test wasnt fair and to all the hoes on here saying that "softball rox" are stupid

Cubs-
A) Please learn grammar and spelling.
B) If you think baseball pitchers don't have to work on their mechanics, then you know absolutely nothing. Both softball and baseball pitchers have to work on their mechanics, maybe even moreso with baseball pitchers. Overhand pitching is far more destructive to the shoulder and elbow area. Underhand is the anatomically correct motion. Baseball P's have to put in plenty of work to ensure proper arm angles for injury prevention and maximum velocity.

Why is it that 95% of softball players fail at spelling, capitalization, and general communication skills? Is it an inherent trait?
Hard to take anyone seriously when words like "nd", "is" instead of "its", and "their" instead of "they're" come up.
Must be too much to type anything other than "OMG saftball is teh RoXeR's!!!1! Boys sukk! Wier bedder!"
How about haveing a ... ( 1 week ago by gsryank)
How about haveing a softball batter trying to hit a baseball pitcher. Id like to see the results.
How about having ... ( 1 week ago by cosmo341)
How about having some Men's fastpitch hitters face Finch. You know, the guys who have actually faced underhand pitching and have swings more tailored to fast pitch rather than the MLB pattern (yea everybody conveniently leaves that little part out; girls fastpitch and mens baseball not being the same). Men's fastpitch hitters are trained to hit at short distances, underhand motions, and different mechanical principles. They face pitching faster than any girl can imagine throwing.
Oh wait, silly me, ... ( 1 week ago by cosmo341)
Oh wait, silly me, I know why. Because if a Men's fastpitch hitter faced a softball pitcher, it would blow this test out of the water!
Or give a baseball player a month to train for underhand fastpitch motions! Or put some random softball player up against CC Sabathia? What would that look like? Too bad such a horrifically flawed study is given creedence by people. You have to be extremely naive or just an absolute moron to believe this study proves anything other than they made a flawed study
"A world class ... ( 1 week ago by cosmo341)
"A world class female pitcher who throws a 68mph pitch released at 38 ft would allow the hitter .381 of a second to react, which equates to a 95 MPH pitch in baseball.
A world class male windmill pitcher who throws an 80mph pitch released at 40 feet would allow the hitter . 341 of a second, which relates to a 106mph pitch in baseball."
WHOOPS! That doesn't change things at all does it. What if this guy faced Papelbon and got blown up on 3 straight pitches too? Would that prove anything?
So, someone ... ( 1 week ago by cosmo341)
So, someone enlighten me. If softball is soo hard, how come the men that train for fastpitch do just fine against even faster pitching than girls will ever see?
Why is there no video of that?
Oh yeah, because that would prove without a doubt how flawed this study is. But hey, if any of you want to believe this proved anything, go on right ahead. You're the one who's going to look stupid.

1st off you need to calm down
2nd its still harder to hit a softball than a baseball.
guys can do it better. congratulations, you figured it out. can somebody get him a prize?
its still harder to hit a softball pitch than a baseball pitch. ask the male fastpitch players.
3rd a baseball is pitched from 60 ft. a softball is pitched at 43. you can't move the mounds just to fit your theorys.
but good try you moron

Good job at completely missing the point dipshit.
Read through all the other comments, and it all boiled down to page after page of "gurls are bedder". This "study" proved none of that.
"guys can do it better. congratulations, you figured it out." Read the other stuff before commenting next time.
Oh by the way, the 38 and 40 ft are the RELEASE POINTS. Girls usually release 2 feet closer than men, making their release point 38 feet, after they have strided forward 5 feet. Men move less.
You do know math, ... ( 5 days ago by cosmo341)
You do know math, right?
Release point is 5 feet after starting point. Ok, if they start at 43 and you subtract 5, that would be......38? Maybe? Yes, no? Kookoo Kachoo?
