Surprised to see some of the other vehicals on the track. The last one looked like a bus or truck, I thought it was coming towards the corvette but probably an optical illusion, but hell, talk about a slow lane.

Well, I wouldn't normally say this because it is a bit ridiculous but comparing a space shuttle to a corvette is ridiculous to begin with:
Put a corvette in the shuttle's cargo bay while it is going 18000 or 25000 or whatever it has gone up in space. Then push the corvette forward and it will be going 18001mph. There ya go, beaten.

***** when you are discussing speed. its reletive. "Einstien". when you push a car to 1mph on a 18000Mph fast rocket. its still going 1mph reletive to rocket. or else we could be adding the speed of earth revolving around sun with the speed of car... etc. even light is presumed to be slowed down when u are going as fast as light it will seem stationary. just a some useless info for ya :D

Yeah, I thought about not bringing it up at all but comparing a corvette to a space shuttle was just so ridiculous. I just had to bring up a smartass way for a corvette to be faster even if it is not entirely a fair way to measure its speed. Once you add up the speed of the earth, the shuttle and the car you will have a corvette going 1mph faster but not under its own power and only in a large reference frame like you said.
