Nah Buckley is overrated and so is his version of Hallelujah. In terms of covers, Wainwright's is far superior but that is besides the point. It is not my intention to sound cold but the legacy of Buckley has been disproportionate to his limited talent largely because of his tragic death at such a young age. Anyhow enough talk of mediocre artists.. Roll on November and Nick Cave in Manchester! :)

Its kind of funny to me because I didnt even know Buckley was dead when I first heard his album around . . . year 2000 or so and I fell in love with it immediately. I think he's great regardless . . . but I respect your opinion :-). I love Rufus . . .but I hate his version of Hallelujah. I think Jeff had an amazing voice and feeling . . . just how i feel . . . fo reals ;-)

Nick is no god. As I am sure he would agree that such things do not exist. Although I certainly do "Worship" his work. It should be known that omnipotence could NEVER produce such beauty and poetic juxtiposition that is the body of Caves work. Only through the lens conflict and contemt can these brilliant observations be made. The man has truly affected me in a profound way, admiration is wholly deserved .

yes i agree... ive found that silent nicks can always be sensed... but nick-like creatures are pretty rare and often difficult to approach in the right way, a bit intimidating because they're always extremely perceptive and you dont want them to sense all your insecurities and how much you're aching to be with them...
