Drug companies gets taxpayed grants for research...then charge the public ten times(at least)the amount to market the drug. So it's socializing costs and privatizing profits. What a sweet deal! No wonder they can own radio stations and tv. Pay a fat Rush Bimbaugh to slam national heathcare like some socialized disease.
Apparently things will stay the same..nothing new in this election that isn't racial or gender based.

This video is a bit misleading. The US spends a higher percentage of GDP on healthcare than any other country.
Also, the US 5 year survival rate for cancer is VERY high. Higher than Europe.

Under King Ludwig II, Bavaria probably spent a higher percentage of GDP on castles than any other country. That doesn't mean everyone was living in them. Even if the U.S. spends more on health care than any other country, it doesn't mean shit for people who can't afford it. Anyway, lot of that cost is due to bloated profits, I'm sure.

Its odd that they chose the guy who was smoking three packs a day and eating hamburgers fried in butter as the poster child. A lot of people oppose universal healthcare because of people who make poor choices about what they put into their bodies.

You have to pay a doctor for a prescription for your wellness. This is mandated health care which was brought on by the CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES ACT. Thank you! It seems that people don't know that alot of Research and Development is subsidized. That is number one reason the drug companies use when asked why are the medications so high.

So what you want? That USA keeps the same old system health insurance companies charge as much as they can, while providing the least amount of care? The United States ranked last among 19 industralized countries analyzed by the study. USA healthcare system could save 100,000 lives if it matched other industralized countries.

Actually universal health care is used in places such as France and UK and works just fine. Imagine if everyone paid in the same amount of money into one large government pot for health coverage. When you're not using it for a Dr's visit, someone else is. And when they're done you may need to use it. But since everyone is always paying into the pot everyone will always have money there to cover them.

People in Europe and Canada don't pay extra. IN US you pay over 35% in taxes, yet you don't see much back. In Europe and Canada you DON'T have to be over 65 in order to use medicare. You don't live in constant fear of getting sick like in US...And you don't go bankrupt if you do.

People don't stop working as a result of universal health care. If they did, countries like Australia, Germany and the UK would be in deep shit. A universal health care system actually encourages people to work by giving them a 'safety net' in case something happens.
Also, just because it costs taxpayers more doesn't mean it's bad: it funds a service available to all citizens.
