Like I said, ... ( 3 weeks ago by backitupwithfacts)
Like I said, Americans still have the best health system in the world. Socialist systems don't just provide long wait times, they provide degraded service. Do you have the stats of how many Americans go to Canada versus Canadians coming to America? THAT would be a good survey. Here's another fact: The American Constitution doesn't have a "right to healthcare." So, if you want that right, move to Canada. Don't change mine. I KNOW THE FACTS.
So to clarify THE ... ( 3 weeks ago by KNWTHEEFACTS)
So to clarify THE FACTS,the US has the best system BUT ONLY IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT.Everyone else is SOL. It makes sense then that 18K Americans die annually because they can't afford insurance(IOM).In terms of waittimes you fail to mention those that have an INFINITE wait for healthcare in the US.These are the 30.4% of the uninsured that have an unmet health need due to cost as published in the July 2006 American Journal Of Public Health.GOOGLE CTV Canadians Healthier Than Americans FOR THE FACTS.
No, everyone else ... ( 3 weeks ago by backitupwithfacts)
No, everyone else isn't SOL. Show me anyone who needs emergency care & can't get it. It doesn't happen, it's a myth. By law hospitals have to treat you regardless of whether or not you pay. MANY Americans don't have insurance because they CHOOSE not to get it. The democrat's "poster family" happened to live about 20 miles from me. They had a new SUV, lived in a $350K house & sent their kids to private school. & YES, Canadians are healthier...Americans are FAT. Nothing to do with healthcare FACTS

Better yet...look at this 6 part series
watch?v=kf3MtjMBWx4
In the end, like I said before, unless they get it in the Constitution, Americans do NOT have a right to healthcare. We'll be happy to let them immigrate somewhere that does though.
That is exactly the ... ( 3 weeks ago by KNWTHEEFACTS)
That is exactly the diff. between Americans and Canadians.By the time one gets to Emergency it's too late. The efforts of a healthcare system should be to manage a patient's health thereby avoiding Emergency Care. This is the focus in Canada NOT EMERGENCY CARE. This means Canadians have regular checkups and have their health monitored by a DR.This is the reason why CDNs are not overweight/healthier.CDNs are not prohibited bycost from having regular visits to a DR and 33% more likely to have a DR.
And you live in ... ( 3 weeks ago by backitupwithfacts)
And you live in America and know this? I see people in Emergency rooms with colds here. The reason Americans are overweight has NOTHING to do with not seeing a doctor. You need a doctor to tell you you're fat??? Nope. We just love to eat cheese doodles and chocolate. We know it's not good for us, but we eat them anyways. Someone telling us not to do it won't help. I'm sure if the majority of spouses with fat spouses can't change it, a stupid doctor visit won't.

but "dead men" do have Estates which can sue governments if their Charter Rights were violated. Since there are so many Estates from your so called "dead men" in Canada, how many law suits have their Estates filed for Charter violations in Canada? BACKITUPWITHFACTS
Here's the number for the US:
From the INSTITUTE OF MEDICINE - 18,000 Americans die every year due to lack of health insurance.
I guess you're ... ( 3 weeks ago by backitupwithfacts)
I guess you're ignoring the FACT that many of them make a decision not to buy it??? Also, if you have insurance doesn't mean that you WILL go to the doctor? Do you know how many poeple who HAVE insurance don't go to avoid bad news? Where's that FACT? Statistics can say whatever you want. Why am I arguing with you? You're in a socialist system already. Don't try to change mine. This is America, not the People's Republic of Canada! If your country's so great, go out in public & call someone "fat".

It's interesting how you change the subject when you can't BACKITUPWITHFACTS. What I asked on my last comment was for you to BACKITUPWITHFACTS that there are "dead guys" from waiting lists in Canada. However, you did not do this which essentially deems your comment as PROPAGANDA. How can you expect anyone to believe your comments if you can't BACKITUPWITHFACTS? Another thing, people that are losing arguments resort to insults(ie.People's Republic of Canada).

In regards to calling someone "fat", it takes a very immature person to EVEN suggest doing something like that.
I can back it up ... ( 3 weeks ago by backitupwithfacts)
I can back it up with facts. FACT-the US healthcare system is THE best in the world. You can throw around the stupid stat that 18,000 die ever year from lack of health insurance. How do you prove such a claim? Just because they say it doesn't mean anything. Give me the names...read me the list. WHO died because they didn't have it? Or was it because they didn't go to a doctor (when they would have been seen!) The "fat" issue was to prove you have NO freedom of speech. The first step to socialism
You're an idiot, I ... ( 3 weeks ago by backitupwithfacts)
You're an idiot, I know it...you might...but I doubt it. I'm not discussing a subject with a socialist who believes in socialism. OUR constitution does NOT have the right to healthcare. My argument was that we don't need it as a country. Now if those, as you say, 18,000 need it, let them get a second job, marry a rich person, or move to friggin Canada! Better yet, if you care so much, how about YOU start a non-profit to buy them a policy. Stay the hell out of our politics. I'm done with you.

One more thing Mr. KNWTHEFCT's...NY Times article Feb 6, 2006 "As Canada's Slow-Motion Public Health System Falters, Private Medical Care Is Surging"...Globe and Mail article March 11, 2008 "Even huge tumour can't secure care in Ontario"...CTV Sept 14, 2007 "Stronach went to U.S. for cancer treatment: report" (She's one of your former Canadian Cabinet Minister right?)...Toronto Star Sep 06, 2007 "Patients suing province over wait times" Need more FACTS? Or do you NOTKNWTHEFCTS???
The public system ... ( 3 weeks ago by KNWTHEFCTS61)
The public system will always be here and be used by the majority of people just like in the UK, Germany etc.Belinda Stronach had most of her cancer treatments done in Ontario and only had her last procedure done in Calif. Please read the full article. The patients suing are for elective procedures hence no "dead guys", unlike the 18K in the US(InstitueofMedicine). With the language you've used, you've shown your true colors. You're just not worth the time.
One more thing, I ... ( 3 weeks ago by KNWTHEFCTS61)
One more thing, I think one of the people suing(pending) the Ont Gov.(your ref.)is the man in this video.I have previously posted the waittimes available to him and if you add the days to Jan 2/06 when he first had his seizure you will see that the care he could have gotten in Ontario would have been done at the same time or possibly earlier than what he got in the US.All this man had to do was search on the internet(like many Americans)and he could have avioded $40K+.Once again KNOWTHEFACTS.
Once we go to ... ( 3 weeks ago by ea1997)
Once we go to national healthcare in the US, you can bet that all of these very intelligent doctors are going to go into something else. Generation X will be having "average" students as their doctors, because the cream of the crop is going to be doing something else. You get what you pay for. We could free up all the money needed to get excellent healthcare for everyone by placing more scrutiny on the workmans compensation system. Too many people abuse this in order not to have to work.
Review all the ... ( 2 weeks ago by 1504sudbury)
Review all the facts and you will see that the US health care system is falling further and further behind in all bench mark areas of quality for health care. I am a nurse and can and do have health insurance but don't kid your self into believing that we are equal and all have access. The food worker at my hospital pays the same premiums as I do and makes about 30% the income that I do. I spend abot 5,000 a year for coverage or about 1/12 of my income. They spend 1/4 for the same coverage.

I don't know where you got the idea that the good ol' U. S. of A. has the best health care system in the world, but I would change my source of information if I were you. The USA pays around 16% of GDP for health care and Japan pays a little over 2% and access and outcomes are much better than what we experience here. Out of all the major civilized countries in the world, the USA is about the only one where a person can be forced into bankruptcy because of a catastrophic medical occurrence.

Funding. It is all about funding. Ignorant Americans come here to scream how bad Canadian system is, ignoring the fact that healthcare funding was cut dramatically under Ontario government under Mike Harris, idiot who was obsessed with corporate tax cuts, ruined Ontario healthcare and education completely.
