The Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, also known as the Tiananmen Square Massacre and the June 4th Incident, or colloquially, Six-four (Chinese: 六四) by the Chinese public, and as the Political Turmoil between Spring and Summer of 1989 by the government of the People's Republic of China, were a series of demonstrations led by students, intellectuals and labour activists in the People's Republic of China between April 15, 1989 and June 4, 1989.

I live in an area of the USA where protests happen on frequent and regular basis, so, for me, it's not a big deal to see a protest - in fact, many people I know have protested, even me. Never have we had the US army open fire on us. The Vietnam War was before my time, but part of the USA's very shady history; then again, no nation in the world is innocent.
It's horrific.
