Fans like you is the reason why people make fun of sci-fi fans. So close mind and stuck in the past. I love star trek but there is always room for someone else view. And if your a star trek fan you will know that's what the show is always been about.

I have a closed mind? That is an interesting thought considering I am an avid Sci Fan, a liberal, and A Geology major along with other things. I don't care about someone elses's view. My point was this: JJ Abrams has made it clear that he is unconcerned with Star Trek Fans. That should be a concern to anyone who wants to see a true blue Star Trek movie. Just because you like Lost does not mean his version will be appropriate.

Yes I like lost but I hate Alias, am not JJ fan or not a fan I really don't have any opinion on him. He has not proven him self yet. But I hope that this project will do just that. What am talking about is calling something shit that has not even been film yet. That's close minded he has said he himself is a star trek fan so I don't see where you get that he does'nt care about the fans. What he is trying to say that he is not going to let anybody dictate what his film should be.

I don't know if I agree with that or not but I'll like to see the finish product before I call something shit. And don't forget they called the last ep. of Enterprise a love letter to the fans and I don't think anythings has ever suck more in the history of star trek.

JJ Abrams is the most over rated director/producer in hollywood.He will hype the shit out the movie with mass viral marketing campagins with hidden messages or secret messages and when you buy your ticket to see the movie he will take it with a smile THANKS SUCKERS.Shatner himself has said there is no logic to bring Kirk back hes dead and he told Abrams the vids on utube.Picard is the Captain of the Enterprise now.Abrams has made it clear he doesnt repect the opinions of loyal Star Trek fans.

What exactly is a "loyal" Star Trek fan? Is that just someone who thinks only like you? It's funny. Star Trek is all about tolerance and diversity and yet some ST fans are the most prejudiced and close-minded fans that exist.

I don't want to judge this film before I have seen it, but the fact that in this presentation, Abrams states that he chose to direct this film on the basis that his wife, who isn't interested in sci fi, liked the script is worrying...to say the least.
P.S. Cloverfield was like Dawson's Creek with a CGI Godzilla.
Abrams has never written involving dialogue or compelling characters in his productions. He instead, relies on directing gimmicks.
Everything is shot like a Mountain Dew commercial.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
I mean, nemesis, how more awful can it be. I like star trek. But the script was soo bad. It was a brutal rape of the series.
They tried to revive it with enterprise. That series was good, i thought it was going back to it's roots. But by then it was to little too late. The world had seen enough of star trek.
I think they made an excellent choice by going back to the classic star trek. With the "allstar" cast(heroes), this could be a huge hit

JJ Abrams is just cutting edge enough to bring something fresh to Star Trek. Cloverfield was just the blending of two old ideas: monster movie vs Blair Witch style. Perhaps he'll do the same for Star Trek.

The reason Kirk is back is because its a PREQUEL dumb-ass. No matter how good of a movie it is or will be, these fans will just focus on the changes made to the movie and criticize it, even if the changes were good. Its like nothing will impress these fans,
I know for a fact this movie will turn out to be a transformers type probably even better. But since the movie has a HUGE fan-base its almost a cult, that will stop this movie into being such a great success. Which will be unfortunate if it was to happen.
