I know what you are talking about. I lost my dog Chavez in 1993. He was a great dog took me ten years to get another dog. got gage in 2002 and you will know when that day comes because the docs will hospitilize me for sure.

Shawny! I was starting to get worried 'bout you, hadn't heard anything in a while. Its exactly the kind of large breed paranoia that doomed Scruffy. I'll continue to say this: The only reason those breeds have such a negative reputation right now is because of the idiots who've trained them as fighters, attack dogs, or "game dogs." I have a lot to say on this subject, but little space here in the comment box. But I'll start out with the fact that state run animal control can't be trusted.

I really like the idea of 24 hour puppy lines ! And we used to have to get a license for our dogs in the Uk ( Not anymore tho) A license for a dog wasnt expensive then (but a license for a black and white dog was cheaper !)LOL !

Correct. This is one reason the no kill in this state is TRYING to get an active role in the state kennels because of the amount of animals being put down daily not given a chance and many folks not even being notified even if the animal is chipped.

Rabies tags and lic tags in the county are a must here.Parvo and any diseases that are transferable a MUST. Chip should be a must but is voluntary at this time.

Lets hope folks start putting pressure on their counties for better measures in animal handling and provide foster care for animals and no kill policies and mandatory spay/neuter. Breeders would be monitored every month and the BITCH would only be allowed one litter per year. A veternarian would monitor this as well as the league of folks who watch for animal cruelty.
