Neal, I know most of this stuff already, I quote abstracts to prove that I am not making it up, prove the truth/veracity of my claims. Indeed, this is how scientist work, if they hear an extraordinary claim, that request extraordinary evidence.
Science is like a court case. If you want a Jury to convict a suspect, the prosecution do not say "He looks guilty" (the Earth looks like it grew), they show the Jury evidence.
You make claims, but never show us any evidence.

Diamonddave, Sorry Dave. There are clear sign of people new to an area. You have been abstract-diving for months. Your Physics is horrible, as you must know,... And your sense of what is evdence and what is not, is, shall we say. LIMITED. Especially if you come from a Geology point of view,...where "LOOKING GUILTY" is indeed tremendously important.
I have been piling evidence upon evidence. You are looking for "CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE".

Science is like a court case. I know. I know one or twelve convicts that were wrongly accused and convicted. Some of them were later freed because their innocence were later proven. Some cases after their deaths! Some are still struggling for a new trial. In some cases someone KNOWS they are convicting a wrong person. In others not. The mind is easy to twist. In court. And science.

Tremilberg, In this case we KNOW that for the Pangea theory to have a chance of being true, the ring of fire must "EAT" as much as the 4 to 5 thousand miles WIDE Atlantic.

OK, Dave, I realize magnetism is a weak force at great distances. But the magnetic lines could play a role in the forming of the planets, guiding dust and meteorites towards certain distances from the sun. Later, when the planets had formed, I dont know, but even a weak force COULD, hypothetically over time, we are talking billions of years here, contribute to the slow process of moving planets. If Neal is right about rethinking science, Big Bang included, then 14 bill.y. no longer a limit..IF!

trymil, I agree its possble the position of the planets is related to electromagnetic forces acting within the protoplanetary dust disk in the first few million yrs of the solar system's development.
A demonstration of the effects of electromagnetic forces are Herbig-Haro objects, which have active gaseous bi-polar outflows spewing out material perpendicular to protoplanetary disks.
But extending the role of electromagnetism to the present day location & motion of planets is pure fantacy.

Neal: The great rift going all the way from Alaska, following the coast for a while, departing from the coast, into the pacific, ending at the rift circling Antarctica just west of Chile. This is the only place where a great rift is asymmetrical and not paralelling the coast. The only place where it at first glance looks to me should for subduction to take place. Watching your animation of this looks just like unzipping a jacket. It is a probable description.

Now, this is where subductionists say the plates are subducting. Right? But that means their version is moving in the opposite direction from yours, i.e. the rift itself has just reached N-America and is approaching S-America. So what happens when the rift is forced to subduct? Isnt that an implication if both rifts in the Atlantic and the Pacific are expanding? Are they really saying that? Not very logic is it? Just trying to understand both points of views here.

TREMILBERG; That's a good question, you can't get an already formed rift to un-subduct from a subduction zone, it has to be subducting.
But Neal's theory/animations imply that seafloor is un-subducting from the western N & S American subduction zones, including that rift zone.
Plate tectonics & Growing Earth agree that the Atlantic is expanding, whereas Plate tectonics implies that Pacific is shrinking ... expansion of the N & S Atlantic causes Pacific subduction (confirmed by the rift).

Diamonddave, Of course the Sun being the core and having the most powerful electro-magnetic field in the Solar System is unimportant and insignificant. In fact when we are in school looking at those magnetic lines around magnets,..well, those lines means nothing as well.

Tremilberg, The only real profound subduction is taking place at the ring of FIRE. All else is rifting open and spreading. The Pacific rift ONCE ran along the coast of south America and North America. That rift hooked into/joined the Antarctic rift and South America pulled away(Was LEFT away) That's why South America is further East than North America NOW! There is no subduction in the Eastern Pacific. Nothing's gone! AND the oceanic plate rests against the 70 km thick South American Continent.

The magnet in school did not vary its strength or move its Mag Lines. But the Sun's Mag Field & Lines are highly variable.
Only gravity/inertia do not change, only they provide reliable forces for reliable planetary orbits.

Ah yes, the Sun's Mag Field is pushed aside by the Earth's Mag Field. So in any case, the Sun's Mag Field can have no effect.

The US and Japanese governments are spending millions of dollars drilling into a subduction zone in the western Pacific, the project is called NantroSeize.
Given that, subduction zones do not exist in the western Pacific, are you going to complain (given these difficult economic times) that drilling into a non-existent subduction zone is a terrible of money!!!

Neal, I always get mixed up with left/right, east/west. No, I'm not drinking.
But I was at a house party last Saturday with 10 drunk geologists from university. We had a computer with internet and we had a look at this vid.
Then I remembered that you started saying "are you drinking?" to people recently, so I thought it would have been so funny to get 10 drunk geologist to post here and all saying yes. Sadly no one was interested, but maybe next time.

thadaran- Because when a moon begins to grow beyond standard accretion, but by making matter at their plasma core, this process of growth accelerates. The planet gets hotter and more energetic, and growth acceleration follows. The crustal age map shows this exponential growth quite clearly.

A. Your most liberal interpretation will make a crescent shape that comes NOWWHERE NEAR the sq mileage of the Atlantic.
B. That compressive subduction BEGAN about 60 MYA!
C. That the OLDEST Oceanic plate(Between 160 and 180 MYO ) has not Subducted YET! There it sits, clearly showing its expanding growth pattern outward from a point.
Double-check your findings.
