Men like Ron Paul make me proud to be an American.Not because I agree with all his ideas but more because he has a set of principles which make sense and do not change according to public opinion. I suggest reading his book "The Revolution: A Manifesto" before disregarding his ideas.

You know..it is funny. I have seen this video a gazillion times trying to understand why people think he is "wrong". I keep on thinking I am "missing something" for agreeing with Ron Paul. But I can't find anything.
But one thing I just noticed was that U see an analogy between the way the US butts into everyone's business is just like the typical mother in law that can't mind her own business. Does it EVER help?? Usually it just causes more trouble...hmmmm.

I agree with you, he's an honest man who stands by his principles. But I'm not surely, paradoxically that that's what makes a good politician.
Perhaps the best politicians are the ones that are prepared to be hypocritical, and bend with the wind, government is largely about shady deals and compromise.
Rigid principles may be good in theory, but may be bad in practise. It is a world of shifting sands and shifting alliances after all.

The Civil War was not over slavery, it was over secession, which came as the result of several issues, one of which was slavery. The North was NOT, however, willing to go to war with the South to force them to give up slavery. It was one of the concessions that they had to make when they lost the war. Again, the war was fought to preserve the union, and had the south not seceded, not only wouldn't there have been a war, but slavery was a dying practice and would have disappeared in a few decades

The south seceded because 1 of Lincoln's campaign topics was preventing the expansion of slavery. If slavery was dying than why secede because of fear slavery as being taken away.
I take that personally. I already have relatives who were born on a plantation and hated the bit they experienced. A few decades. Are you seriously? Did you not see how long it took us to vote, go to college, lean to read? Every freedom Blacks have today had to be fought for. The south wasn't going to free anything.

I want his brain. I want to know what he knows on economics, foreign policy, appreciation for constitutional process, and honesty. And I thought McCain would be good for foreign policy. He's the most straight forward and knowledgeable politician I've ever seen and he points out the hypocrisy of the NeoCons. He should have been our next president.
