They do have depressing songs. But this is one of their most grounded in reality than just sheer melodrama. It's a great critique against the gods and the ignorance of humans who fall unaided. It's not depressing to understand your deep ignorance and the fact that you'll die without knowing much more. It's delusional to believe otherwise, like so many religious nuts seem to do. Insomnium do a greater justice to human condition than religious institutions ever did.

The truth should not be depressing, it's what's happening for thousands of years, expressed here in a more poetic way. Socrates was actually glad that he knew that he knew so little by even professing it out loud. I don't see why we should be depressed if we're not disillusioned, we better know our ignorance and our limitedness and consequently exploit our (limited) reach to its fullest, than being too damn proud filled with false certainties and ultimately living an unfulfilled boring life.

It's Above the Weeping World. You can get it online somewhere or at your local record shop like any other album. I'd suggest a third party at Amazon as that's usually a good price or used on ebay or some site where you can bid.
