I grew up when glam died out, and I saw the other whites start liking rap better. We didn't have any cool whites to look up to anymore, plus blacks ran us and our music down alot. Most whites changed to fit into the black crowd. New rock doesnt have as much power as the old stuff and most of the reason is because the people singing it are low self esteemed. These guys were high self esteemed so they naturally sang about better stuff then depressing crap. I like 80's rock better too.
