This was the first release from the 'new' PiL. A line up which would last in various forms for another five years. 'Seattle' was written on tour while the band were in Seattle, apparently inspired by how boring the town was.

Okay, I kinda like this song now, but I still think the Pistols were way better. I'm not one of those "punk of die" people, but I dunno, I'm so used to listening to the pistols, i guess. PIL is pretty good. And yeah, sid didn't sing in most of the songs. My mistake

Hmm. Not to give Spin (or was it Rolling Stone?) too much cred, but folks were saying every (or most) of the other of the early punk bands (incl. the other 3 mems of the Pistols were laid back and hated Sid, who actually earned the name vicious by being a shit to people. So to the person who gave stigonbass a minus, look a little deeper, hm?

Spilwacky. You learned wrong. This song is not even about Seattle. It was written in Seattle while they were on tour. It is actually about some slums in the suburbs of London, england so you are way off on what you learned. Not even on the right continent.

I always thought this song was in retaliation to a show they played with Green River where Mark Arm just before PIL's set chided: "Stick around if you want to see what a real sellout looks like".
Meanwhile during PIL's set the band stole Johnny Rotten's easy chair, and all of his wine from PIL's dressing room.
Seattle continues to this day to disregard hero worship and display a veneer of subdued enthusiasm when confronted with would be or established "stars".
