New York Post / 10.19.08 It's hair today, gone tomorrow for the NYPD's drug-testing plan. The change has made it harder for officers to cheat on drug tests, such as substituting someone else's urine sample for their own. Hair screening also can detect drug use going back 90 days. Standard urine tests show drug use only within a day or two. (However, the NYPD unions representing cops contested the more accurate method, because it was cruel to animals and liable to detect cops on drugs.)

Anyone who thinks this was "illegal" or a "violation of human rights" is a moron. A taser does nothing long-lasting. There is no real pain afterwards, just fatigue. The police had every right to tase her. She was being uncooperative and biligerent. Some agencies have the policy that if they do not do what you tell them to, you tase/mace them. Ours isn't like that, but a lot of large agencies are. The point is this: don't be stupid, do what you're told, and bad shit won't happen to you. Idiots.

This is a lousy show of professionalism. I find it hard to believe that this situation required a taser. Now a lone cop on the side of a highway is one thing. But, 3 cops and a handcuffed women is another.

This was totally uncalled for. These cops were poorly trained individuals and totally unprofessional. They obviously could have handled this better. Tasering is painful and is being used way too often by police officers who are afraid they will get a finger nail broken....or whatever..out of breath. Anyway...so unprofessional! She is not an unusual disgruntled and uncooperative prisoner. TOTALLY UNESCESSARY!

All lower class citizens (under $100,000 a year) should be required to wear a tazer anklet so they can be reminded "Who's the BOSS" daily or twice daily. They should build and install in all police stations, tazer chairs, to put citizens in at random for questioning. They really need to step the voltage way up on these units so that they can't scream after deployment. All US citizens will soon learn the new order taking shape.
