So the CIA working against the Afghanistan government, supporting a militant group to over throw the elected Afghan government, that wasnt planned? Then when that militant group the CIA created attacks the U.S, you dont consider that an inside job? I didnt even mention the fact that the CIA knew about the attacks, and the Executive branch failed to act.. What you need to specify, like I was trying to articulate, is that there isnt a definition for "inside job".

the towers were empty at the time of the demolition and these people simulate a catastrophy, its a propaganda drill, its so obvious, i was in the swiss army and i did play the part of a victim in war game, same atmosphere of lazyness, people in real shock can't speak, and surely not with good grammar and technical terms

Why? His point is that its extremely unlikely, and even if its true, the Bush Administration is plainly responsible and accountable for many more atrocities, why not focus on the abominations that they are definitely responsible for rather than one that they possibly could be responsible for?
I don't think he's trying to say these events are insignificant, its just ridiculous to dwell on them when the same administration is still causing the deaths of thousands of people to this day.

knee-in chomskys defense, judging by the dozens of remarks ive seen with regards to the statement,as soon as an american hears "who cares" and 9-11 in the same sentance, their logic and perception shuts off a bit and they are swept up with a bit of nationalist ego/sentiment. Seconds afterwards he implies that an american tragedy is no more tragic than what happens in iraq or a subserviant 3rd world country every day and 9-11 perceived differently because precious (north)AMERICAN LIVES were lost

i understand that he is saying the event far overshadows its consequences but he puts this message across in quite a cold way that would upset alot of people. must admit i was taken back a bit when he said 'who cares'! Sure alot of lives where lost but it gave alot of countries an excuse to tighten its grip on the people!

Noam Chomsky is the most devoted and shining example to the extrreme left wing. It boggles the mind that there are some on here that would even suggest he would be paid off. Do all of you turn on people so rapidly when one might now share your view? Noem wasn't "paid off" when he embarrassed the world on our sloth over Rwanda. He didn't back down over true freedom of speech. He's not about to start being a stooge now.

Noam has worked long and hard to become a persistent, credible voice of dissent and has inspired countless people to challenge their leaders on a wide variety of crucial issues. He is not about to damage that credibility by allowing his name to be attached to the 9-11 Truth movement, even if he did believe it probable that a faction of rogue neo-cons executed some plot. It's not his fight and he's probably right that the debate sucks the air out of other, more concrete issues.

Reguardless of if they caused it to happen or not they are using it now to take away our civil liberties and that is cause for alarm and action.
