People want to make a big deal to make it seem otherwise. Why? A few reasons:
1. Make there own decision seem like it has more worth. Everyone wants a winner.
2. Try to make others have a false perception that McCain is leading in the polls. When he is clearly not. Because people want to conform by picking the same pie that everyone else goes with even if they really like apple pie and don't like cherry.

This is what's so terrifying about Barack Obama. He's an incredibly charismatic political figure who doesn't need to spell out exactly what he believes in. He's running on his charisma and his race.
What he would never advertise is his real stance on major issues, and his small track record. The man was a member of a black supremicist church for years, and he truly is about as left as you can get in America today. He's also a socialist. How, pray tell, aren't these divisive qualities?

No one questions his merits and qualifications. Everyone just focuses in on the irrelevant issues like his race. How does that have anything to do with whether he'll be a good leader? Media led tunnel vision if I've ever seen it.

The other problem besides political speeches tending to focus on sound bites, is that most people don't READ. They don't want to actually take the time to read a candidate's positions, that would take work. They want the easy sound bite solution. Does anyone else remember the movie "Network"? I had my teenagers watch it recently. They thought since it's 30 years old, it did a pretty good job of predicting TV in the next generation. Are we getting the gov. we deserve?

Change for change because change is change and because of change we can change. When I buy something at the store I get change, can I drive my self, yes I can. Change is coins and sometimes bills but that is change you can believe in it is real change. Sometimes a quarter is change and sometimes even a 100 is change, now that is real change. Sarah Palin has FAR less experience than Obama! She was mayor of a city with approximately 8,000 people and then Governer for less than two years of a state with a population of roughly 260,000 people! Those are VERY SMALL numbers considering how many people are in every other state! If McCain were elected, odds are he would not even live out his full term(considering his health and age), then Palin would be president and we'd be fucked.

Oh I'm not advocating McCain. The man is an idiot.
All I'm saying is that with McCain we know what we're getting - an idiotic neo-conservative. Whereas most Americans who vote for Obama will be voting for a charismatic black man, and not a socialist leader with no idea how the economy actually works or what actually made America great a hundred years ago.
Personally I'd like to avoid both, and don't buy the lesser or two evils nonsense. Third party in 08! Send a message!

George W. Bush's failed attempts at 'uniting' aren't all due to him. Over the past decade, congress has been anything but bipartisan. Bush failed because he was unwavering in his bills and proposals, never compromising. Congress failed because they could never agree on anything. Issues that should've been solved in months took years. Our president changes in a few weeks, but our congress remains the same. Obama gets my vote simply because a dem legislature + a dem executive can get more done.
