What is that noise in the background? It sounds like an icemaker going off! :) Mozi definitely doesn't seem to mind the grooming - I'm guessing it simulates the group grooming that a lemur would normally do (especially when he starts grooming *back*! - very cool! :)) Rosco the cat can only tolerate brushing for about a minute and a half - you're the best person in the world for that time, then after that, you're pretty much dead to him! :)

Thanks! I wasn't doing such a good job in this one (left hand, one hand heheh). Normally he eventually relaxes completely, closes his eyes and drifts off, especially if I do around his face and ears. Unlike Rosco (and most cats I think ;)), he'll sit for a good 20-30 minutes at least 3 times a day.
The noise is the dryer in the next room, I had ferret hammocks in there and the snaps on them are banging around. Heheh, never realized it.

Maybe you'll have a chance to get him totally relaxed during another brushing session! I, for one love to see his eyes open like that! Lemurs are so expressive with their facial expressions! I'm sure Rosco isn't the first cat to do that either - you can be the best thing in the world one minute, then he's attacking your hand the next! :) Does Mozi ever attack you when you're brushing him?

Yes, it's true; a lot of our communication is subtle eye movement, and facial expression. He's never attacked/bitten me, but beware anyone else who doesn't 'do it right'.;)
Nope, Rosco is a normal cat; heheh, when the patience is up...it's up. Period. heheh

I've heard of stories where pet lemurs will unexpectedly lunge at someone they don't like - but they don't usually do it to their "mates"~
I kind of figured that was just normal cat behavior - always walking arounds like they're Kings of the house! :)

Yes,lemurs as pets can be unpredictable; Mozi as a full male has been an 'exception to the rule' in so many ways. but that's another story
Is Rosco the only cat you've had?
I have had a lot of different animals. I love skunks, but..no. Have had a coati, just for a short time. No bears.;)
Any 'critter' I do acquire I like to do right by, and certain ones need more space, or more time than I'm able to give in a day; I'd never keep one just for the sake of having it.

That noise scared my anteaters. Pua stood up and Stewie froze. That's neat his licking you. I had a weird moment and licked Stewie's ear tonight so he gave me a good grooming in return everywhere he could think of, ears and armpits included, lol

I always have my sound turned way down, didn't even realize the noise was that bad...sorry to scare the kids!

I kind of like when they clean my ears. The used to itch a lot and the rarely do now but Stewie had to learn to be gentle from Pua. It used to hurt a little when he did it but not any more.

I loved this video, I had missed it the last time around, but glad I finally saw it. I watched it full volume, then a second time with the volume turned down since it was just the dryer, and then watched it a third time with hubby.. ok I only made him watch the last half, where Mo was grooming you back. What a cutie!!!

Heheh, I'm always so focused on what I'm seeing that I don't even consider the background noise...until someone mentions it.;) I always love when Mo pulls my hand or arm within better reach to groom.:)

ALRIGHT I HAVE TO ASK THIS: Ma' I find your videos very awesome and entertaining. I thank you for your service to mother nature. These animals do not have to worry another day about hunting, predators and such. My question is: do you LIVE in a middle of a TENNIS COURT? In most all of your lemur videos I hear the sounds of tennis balls in a match. WHAT IS THAT NOISE? Thank you for your kindness to these animals!
