i agree with elijahabrams. also i find that grizzly bear's performances are better intended for live acoustic shows at small venues where you can really focus and feel the music touch you.

I saw then live with Radiohead and they were awesome! When they did this song i thought it was so much better, they really brought out (just like in this vid) the insane high notes of the bass player.

Grizzly Bear isn't so much influenced by the Beach Boys specifically, as they are influenced by 50's/early 60's vocal and instrumental song structures in general. This song could as readily be traced to "My Little Runaway" or "Kathy's Clown" by the Everly Brothers as anything by the Beach Boys.
ALL BANDS, have flecks of prior bands, with flecks of newness. The 1st band had flecks of animal calls + newness called drums. GB's influences are noted more cuz they're RARE influences.

I think it's because they were roped into doing this...it almost seems like they're on something..in a very good way of course! Nevertheless I can understand why they look somewhat uncomfortable...that's a pretty awkward situation to be asked to perform as you are seemingly heading somewhere to party...who knows...that's just my take!
