They look soooo friendly but Google doesn't even support freedom of information.. they would rather censor they're results in China for a couple extra bucks.
Fucking bullshit man.. makes me wonder why they wouldn't do it in the US.. we all know the Government would love that shit

What good is information if a government is censoring or it for their benefit? Being an American company, they should have banned it. The information will shape the way they think instead of giving them options.

I agree with you leggomyego, in the end that would've been the best possible decision for the best possible outcome for the people.
Though I did visit China last year and I don't think Google is to blame here, it's just the whole government past and present that is the true underlying problem.
Yes Google is still a business but they'd rather reach everyone rather than just certain countries.

I think Google is just as guilty as the Chinese government and it goes to show you that they're willing to show you altered information and pseudo-truths in exchange for a couple bucks extra.
That's Unamerican as far as I'm concerned.... but that's right, real patriots are a dying breed today. No one reads the Constitution any more and no one understands WHY the things that are in place are in the first place.
The entire world is turning into a dictatorship, plain and simple.

I think the way you described it makes it even more "American."
Just imagine China and other countries being left behind in this technological, at your hands information era.... that's really bad for the people, the user in mind.
If you remember, Google wasn't sure if it wanted to enter China because of what they demanded and it wasn't till a bit later they did.

I remember seeing video of Chinese people, especially college students, completely happy that they now had the ability to gain the knowledge.
As bad as you may see it the way it currently is, just imagine how much worse it would be (for the user) to be without any information.

Disinformation does not equate to democracy, or anything the United States is supposed to represent, FLAT OUT.

uh huh, Google may not share your data with anybody else. But there's no mention about sharing your data with Google. No mention that they won't snoop around in my data like they do in my Gmail inbox. Will they blend in ads for Starbucks when I save a document containing the word "coffee"? I'm afraid that Google is more and more becoming a "bad" company just like Microsoft, I use their Search because it's still the best but nothing else.
