ok first you need glasses, 2nd you need to research your music, 3rd you have to understand that tommygun only ever produces original material and not cover shite in drag :O))

This version is way to "inaccurate" for The musical Box. TMB always try to sound exactly like on the genesis studio recordings and I think theuy would not improvise during a concert.

this is an old well-known audience 8mm film of Genesis in Montreal in 1974. Don't worry, it's Genesis, just ask the other over 300 people who commented on this video

..and also, the closeups of Steve Hackett, Peter, and Tony don't count? I don't know what else to tell you except that anyone who looks at it knows it's clearly Genesis. And btw, there are closeups of what is clearly Phil Collins on drums - it's not even an issue

What a superb piece of music. This was Genesis at their best. Progressive, etheral, and instrumentally all inclusive with that distinctive trademark British flavor that marks their best music. Once they lost that, their direction was changing. This song is a masterpiece of Prog rock from the early 70s. Forget your Gabriel vs. Collins pettiness. Put that aside and enjoy one of the best jams in Prog rock history.
My GOD what a find! ... ( 1 month ago by hailtothevictorz)
My GOD what a find! Back in the early Eighties I used to just kick back at night and listen endlessly to Nursery Cryme-Foxtrot-Selling England and the highlights of Lamb lies down... I wasn't cool enough when I was 6-10 years old I guess. Best music EVER, and the last few minutes of Cinema Show expands the MIND! Love the lists a couple pages back. Good to know I'm not the only Genesis nut. The interplay between banks and Collins is uncanny. God I hate Phil now.

This is Genesis, no doubt about it! lol Who dare think its a "shitty" cover band? But big respect anyway to "The Musical Box" for recreating in fact some great shows ever made... No bad feelings about Phil, the point is just that after Peter and Steve left the band, they just turn into a more pop oriented band and thats it. Gone was all progressive rock from their hands.. What a shame, when you can hear how talented musicians they were...

take a look at In the Cage from the last tour,, it's the same drumbeats as Three sides Live and that because his skills didn't diminished man,, he just didn't do the great stuff like this again. But than again, some of his solo stuff is great. the drums of Driving the last spike, Home by the sea, Domino are quite nice too, I love this stuff, but that stuff too. The Disney crap? he won a lot of prices with it, though not really proggresive, i agree.

This song is (imho) a little boring, but the Synth solo is very good (an ARP 2600 or ARP pro soloist, if I am not wrong)

Sir Steve Hackett lays such a rich tone on some of this tune. The melodies and chord progressions weave a really good musical narrative. Believe me, I have a phd in this stuff~ now where the hell did my bong go...?
